The weekly report recorded Karenia brevis in 11 Gulf Coast samples and directs readers to daily sampling for newer conditions.
What the record says
FWC’s October 9 statewide report says Karenia brevis was observed at background to very low concentrations in 11 samples from and offshore of Florida’s Gulf Coast. The agency reported no red-tide-related fish kills or respiratory irritation over that reporting week, and no detections along the sampled East Coast. Its next weekly report is scheduled for October 16; the agency also maintains a daily sampling map.
