UK expands Saudi travel warning to Jeddah, Dammam and most airports
FCDO’s October 11 update advises against all but essential travel to Jeddah, Dammam and every Saudi airport except Medina International Airport.
What the record says
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has expanded its advice against all but essential travel to include Jeddah and Dammam, as well as all airports in Saudi Arabia except Medina International Airport. The page retains warnings for Aseer, Riyadh, Najran and Jizan provinces and Taif, and advice against all travel within 10 kilometres of the Yemen border. It also retains its instruction to avoid King Khalid International Airport until secure following the October 10 incident. These are UK government travel warnings, and the exception for Medina does not establish that other risks are absent.

Practical next step
Check the latest FCDO advice for your destination and airport before travelling, including connections. Confirm flight arrangements and follow Saudi authorities’ instructions.
Limits and what is not established
The advice does not establish a new attack, casualties, airport closure or when King Khalid airport will be secure. The broader airport-threat statement remains an attributed risk assessment. Other governments and insurers may apply different guidance.
Source reviewed October 11, 2026, Eastern time. FCDO labels the page “Updated 11 October 2026” and “Still current at 12 October 2026”; the latter is a source currency label, not a new Iliyn creation date. Later notices may change the advice.
